Merluccius capensis / M. paradoxus
South Africa's most commercially significant fish and the backbone of our trawl operations. Cape hake is prized for its lean, white, mild-flavoured flesh and commands strong prices in both domestic retail and premium export markets across Europe, Africa, and Asia.
Chelidonichthys capensis
A firm, sweet-fleshed bottom-dwelling fish caught alongside hake on the South African trawl grounds. Gurnards are popular in local markets for their versatility excellent pan-fried, grilled, or slow-cooked in curries and stews.
Pterogymnus laniarius
Also known as Bigeye Stumpnose a reef fish caught in South Africa inshore waters. Known for its firm, pink flesh and delicate flavour. Highly regarded in the local market and a favourite for braais. Available whole and fresh.
All hake and bycatch products are landed from Letap's own trawl vessels and processed at our HACCP-approved processing facility in Port Elizabeth / Gqeberha, ensuring full traceability and uncompromised quality standards.

Our squid is caught on our own HACCP-approved squid vessels and frozen at sea preserving peak quality and freshness from the moment of capture, long before the fish reaches any processing facility.
Our pilchard and anchovy is discharged from HACCP-approved fishing vessels and processed at our own world-class, HACCP and EU-approved processing facility.
